  1. Thank you for the great list! I check your blog every day and am now checking your Free App site everyday! We use your Dance mix all the time! You might want to check out Letter School! It is a favorite app in our class. We also like Storybook Maker! I have blogged about both and your site on my blog at We are hoping to try Tic Tac Toe and Connect Four soon! Love, love, love your blog!

Do you know if there is any assessment-apps for young children?

  3. Veronica says:

I would love a list of Android apps ;). We are a 1:1 Android tablet district K-8 and most sites like this are geared to Apple :(

  4. Estelle Scappatura says:

Can these be used for grade 1 as well? My grandson will be teaching “for America” and placed in an improvished area of St. Louis, Gr. 1, for two years. He is on FB. I would like to send this program to him via that media.

  5. Deb says:

    Matt, you truly inspire me!
Thank you for sharing your list of apps. I included it on my website so my kinders and parents can use them on their pads. I gave you all the credit because I find you amazing. Thanks!

  6. mrsjnelson says:

  7. Brian Harris says:

A $400 piece of technology to use flashcards.

I’m continually disappointed with educational technology. It seems made by people with no understanding of learning.

  8. sonya says:

Thank you so much. This is fantastic. I really appreciate your thoughtfulness and hard work

  9. Sarah says:

As a parent of a child with some special needs and learning disabilities, I find this website incredibly useful. Our child is able to learn without so much frustration and pressure through this technology. Investing in an iPad was the best money we could have spent to support his education. Thank you for helping us find additional apps and programs to help our son.
