My class started using this week! They love it! Thanks so much for sharing. I love how it has brain breaks and educational songs!

I haven’t tried it yet, but have seen many bloggers posting about using it. I live in Seattle, so I can see using it on those dreary rainy days when we can’t get outside. I read somewhere, though, that gonoodle is replacing recess in some places, and I think that is wrong. Kids need to play outside and get some fresh air and be away from the classroom. For a couple of minutes of brain breaks and for inclement weather days, I can see using this, but kids need to be outside and free to use their imaginations in their play and not have to be told or shown what to do in order to exercise or move their bodies.

We use it mainly for quick brain breaks during transitions. If classes are using as a replacement for recess that is a a bigger issue that the website itself. Hopefully most are using it as you suggest.

  3. Jannike, you are absolutely right! Of course we are glad if teachers use GoNoodle when they absolutely can’t go outside for recess, but GoNoodle is built exactly for the scenarios you described to give kids even more opportunities to get moving, in addition to the freedom of recess and PE. Thanks so much for your input!
