  2. Jeannie says:

love these – really helps keep our kids focused at other times of the day!

  3. Melissa Clancy says:

Matt do you have to have a paid Symbaloo account to use these? Thanks Melissa

    • Matt Gomez says:

Melissa, you don’t even need to have a Symbaloo account to use these mixes. Just save the link to the mix you like and they work directly from that link. No need to sign on. Nothing that I create or use in Symbaloo cost money. Every aspect of it is free for teachers :)

  4. Lisa says:

Thanks for sharing and introducing me to safe share. Love symbaloo too!

  5. Heather says:

Wow! What a collection! Do you download the videos into Symbaloo to avoid having to look them up on YouTube at school?

    • Matt Gomez says:

Heather, I do not download the videos. Symbaloo is a visual bookmarking tool so it works much like your favorites in a browser. I add the link to the video for each Symbaloo tile.

    Hi Matt,
I found your blog and love, love the symbaloo videos. My first graders love it too! I’m using it as a reward system where they have to work to earn points during a week and then they get to vote on which videos to watch, dance, etc… We don’t have the time to even breath during the day so for now it’s working for once a week. Now, I created an account on symbaloo however, I’m stuck on how to create my own videos. You say you just choose the videos and add the link? So, do you go to YouTube, and then choose the video you want? I am lost :(

    • Matt Gomez says:

Yes I get all the videos from YouTube. You don’t make the videos with Symabloo, it is just a visual bookmarking tool. If you want to make videos you would need to upload the to YouTube and then use that link for Symbaloo

      • Lymari DLT says:

Ok. Thanks… I have lots to learn! By the way, I just saw you’re coming to Orlando. Would love to see your presentation. I’ll have to talk to my principal and see if he can let a first grade teacher attend the conference. (He only sends the k teachers in our school)

  7. What an awesome collection. Thank you so much for sharing. I recently started for brain breaks and my 1st graders love them. This will be a great addition!

  8. Jennifer White says:

My students are LOVING these video clips! They are perfect for when I feel they need or have earned a “brain break”. Thank you so much for sharing!!

  9. Matt. Have you ever used Adventure to Fitness for indoor recess? ( My kinders LOVE these videos and so do I! The videos are 30 minutes long so I tend to show 15 minutes one day and 15 minutes the next. Completely free to teachers, but you have to register ahead of time. If you are the first in your district to use this program, you have to register your district. (Not a big deal at all.) Camille

  10. Jonelle Bell says:

We have had such a bad winter that we have been doing lots of brain breaks. I am so excited to add to our collection as we head into the rainy season here in Ohio.

  11. Kristina says:

I love your site and thank you for sharing! We love Eric Herman and Sesame Street as well as They Might be Giants, the music/performances on Yo Gabba Gabba, bmossman (Wow Wow Wubbzy), and the performers from Jack’s Big Music Show. Do you know if these are on symbaloo?

  12. Cindy Taylor says:

Matt, I watched you webinar on virtual field trips and I thought you said there was a kinderchat symbaloo webmix with virtual field trips named Wonders. I found a kinderchat wonderopolis symbaloo webmix but not one with virtual field trips. Is there a webmix with vrtual field trips?
I got a lot of new ideas from the webinar. I sure appreciate all the kindergarten ideas that you give to us. I use your ideas DAILY!

  13. Rachel says:

Wow, I love all of these mixes!!! I had never heard of symbaloo until I stumbled upon your blog. I am going to share with all of my kindergarten friends! I can’t wait to watch some of your webinars! Thanks for sharing!!! :)

  14. Judy says:

I hope i am understanding this correctly because I am definitely loving this. Will it matter if we are blocked from YOU TUBE at my school ??????????

    • Matt Gomez says:

Unfortunately no. If youtube is blocked safeshare will be blocked too! However since this is a safe way to view youtube maybe you can talk with the decision makers and get things unblocked eventually.

  15. Amelia says:

Hi Matt, Thank you for all the great ideas I really love them! I have managed to use you-tube and safeshare and symbaloo to start making my own web mix like you have, however I have one question. After I link everything into symbaloo and have made my little linky box my box doesn’t have the image of the beginning of the video on it. It is just a blank color with the title. I went to edit title and played around with it but I can’t seem to make the picture show up like you have.

  16. Melissa says:

HI! Thanks for the sites. Do you use Gonoodle? My kids love it and you can add any youtube video you like as well.
