New Literacy Apps
Literacy apps that are new to me that I am excited to try this year.
You can see my Math apps here and all the apps I already use here
ABC Magic Reading Short Vowels
Sentence Reading Magic (same developer as above, really all their apps are great but these two I love)
Spellosaur – I’m not exactly big on spelling in Kindergarten but this app is great for sight word practice. Especially like that I can record my own voice for each word. (or the kids voice) Also would be great for letter ID/sound since you can choose the “word” and record your voice for it.
Flashcards - not a fan of flashcards but this is more interactive word work
Available in several languages but you have to purchase each language separate. Might be useful for my French immersion friends
Touch and Write best part of this app is the kids can “write” with all kinds of cool things with sound effects. Kids can write the form many pre selected groups including the ABC’s, numbers, high frequency word lists, or you can create your own list.
Handwriting Without Tears- I have a review of this app here
Feed Me- This app is really all areas but I decided to include it with the literacy group. Letter ID, rhyming, opposites, colors, letter sounds, shapes, more or less, segmenting, counting and more are included in this app
Look forward to hearing about other literacy apps you are using in the class!

Feed Me is a great app for #frimm teachers too.
