Popplet App 101: Quick “How To” Video

Below is a 7 minute video outlining the basics of using this great app. There is a FREE version (Popplet Lite) as well as a paid version ($4.99.) I discuss the difference between the versions in the video.

I have written about using this app HERE,  HERE and HERE.

    Hi Mr. Gomez,

My name is Shanda Thornton. I am a student at the University of South Alabama. I am currently a junior and I am enrolled in the class EDM310. We are assigned teacher blogs to comment on and that is what brings me to your blog! Firstly, I would like to say that it is awesome that you are a kindergarten teacher! I hope to teach somewhere between 3rd and 6th grades and recently decided that I could add 2nd grade back to my list! Although I know that I will take whatever job is available when I finish school.
I really enjoyed your video explaining Popplet! I find it very helpful to see present day teachers speaking about an app or tool that they use inside their own classroom. I could see the visual word webs helping your students remember more things about the subject that they were taught. Your video was also detailed enough for me to download the app and create my own word web without any problems!

Thank you for sharing, and I hope you are having a great year!

I really like the idea of using this for the letter of the week and having my kids find their own pictures to match the letter. Do you have any suggestions for the easiest/quickest way to upload a bunch of clip art to popplet? Also, will it translate to every ipad or will I have to upload pictures on each pad? Love your blog! I’ve gotten so many good ideas … the self control bubble were life changing!

Mandy, the images are not actually uploaded to popplet. They are added to the iPads camera roll and imported to popplet from there. It will not translate to every iPad unless they all share the same photo folder and are synced. How many iPAds do you have?

Glad the bubbles were a success!

We have 6, but I could stream them over the cloud to all. I should just make a clip art folder in my photos?
