“Teaching” is not my goal
I prefer not to teach. Actually, I feel I am at my best when I am not teaching. Being a teacher is much more about facilitating learning than teaching. To do that I must be willing to be a learner. There is no better way to be a leader for my class than to show them the importance of finding your passion(s) and being a lifelong learner. I was so excited to share with my Kindergarten class that I would be missing a day of work to go to #EdcampOmaha. They loved to hear about me learning with other teachers and are eagerly anticipating me bringing back pictures of the event. I can only hope I help spark passions in my class by sharing my own learning with them.
So today I am leaving for Omaha…I am excited to meet new friends, learn new things and share what I can!
